Nach Berichten der BBC UK zufolge, wurde die Amerikanische Sluge Metal-Band Baroness am gestrigen Mittwoch, den 15. August 2012 in einen Busunfall verwickelt. Der Unfall ereignete sich in der Nähe von Bath, Somerset (UK), während sich die Band auf dem Weg nach Southhampton befand. Laut der Berichte ist der Bus bei starkem Regen von der Straße abgekommen und einen 10 Meter tiefen Abhang hinuntergestürzt. Crew und Band sind derzeit zur medizinischen Behandlung in lokalen Krankenhäusern untergebracht. Zwei Passagiere mussten mit mechanischer Bergungstechnik aus dem Wrack befreit werden und erlitten schwerere Prellungen und Brüche. Die restliche Besatzung kam mit kleineren Verletzungen davon.

Alle anstehenden Tourtermine wurden bis auf Weiteres abgesagt.

Ein Mechaniker, welcher in der Nähe wohnt, berichtet:

"It looks like the coach has gone through the traffic lights, skidded through a fence and fallen onto the road below. It's a sheer drop. The coach managed to land on its wheels — but it was a mess. The front of it was completely caved in and there was a lot of damage to the back too. There were paramedics on the scene treating people."

Polizei-Inspektor Steve Mildren erklärt, dass neun Passagiere an Bord waren. "They have all been accounted for and there are some injuries and they are receiving medical treatment at hospital. Er ergänzt jedoch, dass keine der Verletzungen lebensgefährlich sein:

"At this time we don't believe that any of those injuries are life-threatening. It had been raining really heavily, as it has been for much of the day."

Lamb of God-Gitarrist Willie Adler schickt seine Grüße und Wünsche an die Band. In einer Nachricht via Facebook heißt es:

"I want to send all my love and prayers to our brothers in Baroness. What they have endured is one of my greatest fears of touring. To be in that situation has to be extremely harrowing. I can only hope that their recovery is speedy and their trauma is shortlived. Again, all my thoughts and prayers are with Baroness, their crew and their families. I feel that I can speak on behalf of all of the Lamb of God family when I say we love you, and are all praying for you. We can't wait to be back out on the road with you guys doing what we do best."
